About Us

Umul-Qura Islamic Centre

Umul Qura Learning Centre is a trusted Islamic educational and community hub located in the heart of Kitchener, Ontario. What began as a grassroots initiative has grown into a vibrant learning centre where education and spiritual growth go hand in hand.

We offer a range of programs designed to empower individuals, strengthen families, and build strong community bonds rooted in Islamic values.

Authentic, accessible Islamic education for every age and every stage of the journey.

Qur'an Recitation & Tajweed

Students of all levels learn to read and recite the Holy Qur'an with proper pronunciation. Lessons are delivered with care and patience to build fluency, confidence, and love for the Qur'an.

Islamic Studies

Comprehensive, age-appropriate classes in Aqeedah (belief), Fiqh (Islamic rulings), Akhlaq (manners and character), Seerah (life of the Prophet ﷺ), du'a memorization, and practical daily Islam.

Tahfiz / Hifz Program

For students committed to memorizing the Qur'an. With structured plans, review sessions, and moral encouragement, students progress steadily and spiritually.

Weekend Qur'an School

Perfect for school-going children: Qur'an reading and memorization, Islamic manners and values, basic Arabic vocabulary, and fun Islamic activities.

Ramadhan Programs

Taraweeh prayers, community Iftaar, Qur'an Khatms, youth and family activities, men's and women's halaqahs, and inspirational talks and du'a sessions.

Youth Nights

A safe, engaging space for teens and university students to build identity and self-confidence, discuss relevant topics from an Islamic lens, and socialize through games and shared learning.

Qiyam Nights

Overnight spiritual gatherings — especially in Ramadhan — with Tahajjud prayer, reflection circles, Islamic talks, brotherhood and sisterhood activities, and group suhoor.

Circles for Men & Women

Separate halaqahs covering Tafseer and Hadith study, discussions on marriage, parenting, and personal growth, wellness workshops, and community support groups.

Weekly & Monthly Gatherings
